Proposed 2026 PAAR Bylaws Amendments
As part of PAAR’s ongoing responsibility to maintain an effective, current, and well governed Association, the Board of Directors is presenting several proposed amendments to the PAAR Bylaws for member consideration.
The proposed amendments address four primary areas: the composition and size of the PAAR Board of Directors, voting eligibility for the Affiliate Director position, clarification of the Board’s meeting attendance requirements, and modernization of the governance structure for PAAR’s Multiple Listing Service.
To help members make an informed decision, each amendment is accompanied by an explanation of what a YES vote means and the reason the amendment is being proposed.
Members will also receive a redlined version of the affected Bylaws provisions showing proposed deletions and additions.
PAAR’s General Counsel and MLS Counsel drafted the proposed amendments and, as part of that review, also recommended certain technical cleanup revisions to the existing Bylaws language. These edits are reflected in the redlined document along with the substantive amendments being presented for member approval.
The amendment explanations are intended to identify and explain the substantive changes on which members are being asked to vote.
We encourage all eligible members to review both the amendment explanations and the corresponding Bylaws language before casting their vote. These proposals are intended to strengthen PAAR’s governance structure, clarify existing provisions, and position the Association to continue serving its members effectively into the future.
The Bylaws amendments will be a part of the 2027 PAAR Board of Directors Election Ballot. The election opens Monday, September 14th and closes on Friday, September 25th.
